Feel like you’re being forced to choose between your career and your kids?

You’re not alone.

Maybe you’re on maternity leave, already dreading the return to a rigid job.
Or your youngest has just started school, and you’re wondering: what now?

The truth is, truly flexible, school-hour jobs are rare.
You ask in Facebook groups and get the same replies:
“Dead End Cleaning is always hiring.”
“Hard Graft Carers are looking again.”

And while those jobs matter, they’re not your path.
You’ve built real skills. You’ve earned experience. You deserve more.

What if the answer isn’t forcing yourself back into a system that doesn’t work?

What if you could build a flexible, fulfilling business - from home, between the school runs - with support, structure, and a community that gets it?

Introducing: The School Run Society

A supportive 12-week course and membership for women ready to start working as Virtual Assistants (VAs), using the skills they already have.

No need to figure it all out alone. No MLMs, no fluff.

  • Practical, bite-sized lessons

  • Study Hall (Co-working sessions, Tuesdays at 10am-12pm)

  • Story Time (Guest expert sessions)

  • Homework tasks to keep you on track

  • End of Term Disco - with prizes!

AND…

The cherry on top?

You’ve heard of PGL, right? The week in the summer where kids in Year 6 get to escape to have a week of fun activities and adventure as the ‘Parents Get Lost!’..?

Well, we’re having our own version… KGL.

This optional in-person retreat will take place on 9th-11th January’26, where we’ll meet up for some rest, relaxation and preparation for the year ahead. There’ll also be uninterrupted lay-ins (ooh!) and a few fun activities (ahh!).

How much does it cost?

The course fee is £499 payable either in full or as a deposit of £199 followed by three monthly payments of £100.

Discounted Places

There are 10 places available for the beta run of this course that starts in September’25. The beta price is just £299 (payable in full or as a deposit of £119 followed by three monthly payments of £60).

In return for this whopping great discount I just ask that you offer feedback and testimonials, share the course twice on your social media, and join the rest of the class in a Zoom screenshot.

  • I’d suggest around 2 hours each week, to watch some content, do the homework and join the live session. As the course is online, you can fit this around nap times, school runs or even during the 3am feed.

  • Yes, there are two live sessions each week: one check-in session at 10am on Mondays, and one co-working session at 10am - 12pm on Tuesdays.

  • Absolutely no problem, all live sessions are recorded and available in the membership section to watch at your convenience. We have a Facebook group and WhatsApp chat group for any questions in between.

  • Don’t panic! There’s a section in the course about identifying your existing skills and how they could transfer into services for your clients.

  • The best part of being a VA is the flexibility. You could do general admin, Canva graphics, inbox and calendar management, social media scheduling, and more. During the course of the programme you’ll figure out your strengths and preferences, and create your own list of services ready to go!

  • The average salary for a VA in the UK right now is £30-35 per hour.

And the best thing about being your own boss is that you can set your own prices.

  • It’s only fair we get a break too, right?

At the end of the course there will be an opportunity to join the rest of The School Run Society for a weekend away to rest, plan and mingle.

We’ll either hit the big city, the countryside or the beach, and have a few fun activities as well as down time and uninterrupted lay ins.

There will be an extra charge for this and it’s not mandatory to attend.

  • Yes! Once you’ve completed the initial 12-week course, you’ll have the option to stay on as part of The School Run Society - keeping access to the community, ongoing support, job opportunities, helpful resources, and first dibs on our KGL retreat.
All for just £22 a month.

I’m Hannah - your Head Girl here at The School Run Society...

…and founder of You Need a Hannah. I’m a mum, a business support expert, and someone who knows exactly what it feels like to be stuck between motherhood and a career that no longer fits.

After years in a fast-paced corporate role, I returned from maternity leave to a “flexible” job that ticked the boxes - but didn’t light me up. I knew I had more to offer, but I didn’t want to start from scratch or sacrifice time with my daughter. It took time (and a global pandemic) to realise I could do things differently.

Now, I run a successful freelance business helping small businesses thrive - and I want to help other mums do the same. The School Run Society was born from a deep belief that mums shouldn’t have to choose between purpose and presence.

You can build a career that works around school hours, and you don’t have to do it alone.

Ready to build a working life that actually works for you and your family?
